SET index continues to surge

the stock exchange of thailand main index soared more than 20 points on wednesday afternoon on the back of inflowing foreign direct investment, reports said.
foreign investors had made net purchases of more than two billion baht during this morning trading session. most foreign investors bought shares of the energy companies, substantially increasing these firms’ share prices.
the main index went up 14.76 points or 1.34% to close at 1,115.88 points at the end of trading session on wednesday morning. the trade value was 19.27 billion baht, with 2.46 billion shares traded.
about 14.56pm, the set index rose 20.24 points to stand at 1,126.36 points, according to the reports.
at 3.27pm, the main index stood at 1,118.73 points, up 17.61 points, or 1.60 per cent. the trade value was 15.27 billion baht.
at 3.37am, the set index rose 18.37 points, or 1.67 per cent, to stand at 1,119.49 points, with a total turnover of 32.92 billion baht, with 3.72 billion shares traded.

Capital inflow boosts stock market

the stock exchange of thailand main index soared above 1,111 points on wednesday morning, fuelled by foreign direct investment inflow, set president jarumporn chotikasatian said.
since the beginning of the year, foreign investors had made total net purchases of about 15 billion baht, he added.
mr jarumporn said this shows fact that investors now have more confidence in thailand’s economic fundamentals.
analysts expected that the profits of listed companies would grow by nine to 13 per cent this year, according to the set president.
he warned that investors must keep a close watch on global economic problems, particularly the debt crisis in greece.
the stock exchange of thailand main index opened at 1,108.07 points, up 6.95 points, or 0.63 per cent from tuesday’s close. the trade value was 2.03 billion baht.
at 11.20am, the set index rose 10.51 points, or 0.95 per cent, to stand at 1,111.06 points, with a total turnover of 12.66 billion baht.
at 11.48am, the main index stood at 1,112.63 points, up 11.51 points, or 1.05 per cent. the trade value was 14.83 billion baht.
