Thai, Cambodian troops clash

a thai soldier was wounded in an exchange of fire between thai and cambodian soldiers on the border near prasat ta kwai temple in surin province this afternoon, reports said.
the clash took place about 2pm. the wounded had been admitted to surin hospital.
col suwit hukaew, the 2nd army spokesman, said he was checking the information.

PT won't change Section 112

the ruling pheu thai party on friday issued a statement insisting that it has no plan or thought of amending section 112 of the criminal code, the lese majeste law, reports said.
the statement, read out by party leader yongyuth wichaidit, said pheu thai respects the high institution and abides by a democratic system in which his majesty the king is constitutional the head of state.
pheu thai has no plan or idea to alter the law, as claimed by some people and reported in some media, the statement said.

Chalerm: Nalinee's appointment legal

under thai law, the appointment of nalinee taveesin as pmโs office minister was constitutional, deputy prime minister chalerm yubamrung said on friday.
being blacked list by the us did not disqualify mrs nalinee from appointment to cabinet, which is subject only to thai law and the thai constitution, he said.
asked about the appointment of natthawut saikua, pheu thai list mp and a co-leader of the red-shirt united front for democracy against dictatorship, as agriculture and cooperatives deputy minister, mr chalerm said he approved of it.
he rejected rumours of another military coup.
he had confidence that new defence minister acm sukampol suwannathat would not make any move to change the defence administration act, as speculated. he felt the government had been working together well with the armed forces over the past few months.
mr chalerm denied that fugitive former prime minister thaksin shinawatra had played a major role in setting the new cabinet line-up, as reported by some media. he considered the overall look of the second yingluck to be good.

Border clash report denied

there was no clash between thai and cambodian soldiers at the border near prasat ta kwai temple as reported, a 2nd army spokesman said on wednesday.
it was earlier reported that one thai soldier was wounded in when soldiers from the two sides exchanged shots.
col wisit chotamangsa, the 2nd army chief-of-staff, said there had not been a clash.
a thai soldier accidently fired his weapon, wounding a sergeant in the leg.
the accident occurred near hill 306, about one kilometre from the prasat ta kwai temple ruins, col wisit said.
surin governor yutthana wiriyakitti, when asked about the report, said he was still checking the information.
